Speaking Truth to Power

Carrying the ancestral torch

A woman carries a torch into the city.
Yet darkness itself is a choice

There are certain principles in this world, both cultural and individual, that are essential to carry forward through time. The dark forces that exist in our world conspire daily to erase these sacred missions.

Yet darkness itself is a choice. We can accept our natural balance of light and dark energies, moving through the world making it better in whatever small way possible. Or we can feed our dark side, seduced by power that becomes intoxicating until we crave more at any cost.

When masses choose to feed their dark side, we see the result in today’s America and in the erosion of fundamental principles throughout the world.

Hate has become their most powerful tool for fanning these flames of darkness, used intentionally to blind us from truth. It weakens us, makes us vulnerable to toxic messages that paint those who look or think differently as enemies to be feared and destroyed.

Lies are the vehicle of hate. In this eternal struggle between truth and deception, light and shadow, we find ourselves living out an ancient narrative.

This universal story plays out repeatedly in our modern mythology — our films, games, books, and media. These are ancient teachings reborn in forms we can understand today, speaking timeless wisdom through contemporary voices.

Looking back through our ancestral lines, we can recognize those who carried the torch forward. Those rare souls who resisted the seductive darkness swirling around them and chose to move forward in light. Their choice kept the mission alive in our lineage.

While the torch may skip generations before someone emerges to take up the cause, that connection remains unbroken. It’s rarely as dramatic as our stories portray, but it remains essential to our survival as spiritual beings. Look back — that ancestor in your lineage is waiting to be remembered.

The mission often goes unrecognized because its most important work happens in ordinary moments, without fanfare. We struggle to keep it alive as dark forces work tirelessly to erase it from our collective consciousness. Perhaps it’s safer to do this work in obscurity — history shows how our most visible heroes are systematically destroyed.

The core principles remain surprisingly simple. Every authentic spiritual practice or religion shares these basic truths. Those of us who struggle to keep the light alive recognize what matters in our hearts, even when words fail.

We will stumble and fall countless times, occasionally straying into darkness ourselves. But there is wisdom even in those shadows, if we have the courage to learn from them, shake ourselves off, and rise again.

Such is our purpose.

Throughout history, people of conscience have struggled to keep these principles alive.

Thus, they become targets.

So be it.

We will move forward with whatever light we can muster in these shadowed times.

Speak truth to power and stop the hate.
